Okay, I'm sick of people asking me on irc about the progress of the site.. so here goes with some news that should keep you happy. SITE This is a taster of the new design that onyx will adopt when the site opens shortly. I was planning to use flash to have nice animations and music in the site, and somewhere down the line I may still do this. However I don't have the time to sit down and learn how to use the authoring tool. The only non standard thing I may include in the site is use of html4, which I don't think netscape can display properly. But seeing as how I don't like netscape that much I'm not to bothered about it. The site is designed to load quickly, and will hardly have any images. People complained about the previous design taking ages to download, so I listened, also, it was a bit hard to manage. this way it will be easier for me to edit, and you to look at. As yet I have not chosen a server to upload onyx to, and I have not registered a domain name. However, I will probably host the site with Liquid Gravity, they may well allow anonymous ftp (download only) and use download resumes. So basically all the complaints I had about onyx in the past will be resolved. Faster link, faster downloading pages, anonymous ftp, and resuming downloads. Don't say I never do anything to help people out! :) DJ NIKITA DJ nikita is probably happy at the moment. He's getting another mention on our site. Even though I'm slagging him off. For those of you that don't know I'll explain. DJ nikita approched me looking to become a member, he had a couple of tracks he sent me to listen to and they were good. He claimed they were by himself, and who was I to argue? The guy had no reason to be lying did he? Wrong? He stole the tracks of other artists, and claimed he made them when he quite clearly didn't. This kind of behaviour really really sucks.. and it pissed me off. He was kicked out of onyx as soon as I could confirm the rumours. I as admin for onyx cannot download every track from the net and screen them against every possible release for onyx. Dj nikita knew this, and set out to exploit us, and make or group look bad. It worked, so he's probably sitting at home laughing insanely to himself right now. NEW MEMBERS I'd just like to welcome EMOLIENT, RIZE4o4, SUBLIME. EMPHONIC, and TRISTAN to onyx. If you have any further questions direct them to me Mailing list |

So, whats been happening? The overhaul of our web page still isn't complete. Foolishly I over wrote the artist page with an older version so just ignore the fact it still has manky brown smeared all over it. | Also, I realise there are various zip files missing. Usually these are the seperate tracks for an EP. The EP should still be downloadable by clicking on the DOWNLOAD graphic. Sorry about this, but I have little time to upload things these days. We have two new members. Madhatter and HeatSeeker. I've known Madhatter for some years now, since before I joined my first Tracking group LoK many many years ago. I've always looked up to him, and it's a pleasure to have him on board. Heatseeker may be new to many people out there, he's new to me infact. I only stumbled across his work after a bored evening downloading files from trax in space. His music really took me by surprise as I didn't expect to find anyone this good not belonging to a proper tracking group. I'll add the relevant information to the artists page as soon as I have time. What's Going on? (part 2) |

A further update, as some of the information was, eerrr, incorrect. Jcl hasn't given up tracking, he's not the left the scene. Infact, he's gone semi/temporarily pro. Which means, he'll be back. I (jrb) am certainly looking forward to that day.. | What's Going on? |

I've been asked by various people around the world about onyx, and what is actually happening. Yes, we've slowed down at the moment but I think I'll try and explain what has happened since last time. As you may or may not know, both Matrix Cubed, and Myself (Jrb) have joined Ultrabeat. And while that initially means putting out a release for them it doesn't mean that we have given up on onyx. Matrix Cubed's first tracks have been release through Ultrabeat and I strongly urge you to download them. I'm still working on mine. JCL seems to have given up tracking. I have his final release on my Hard disk waiting to be released with the upcoming Onyx Trax4. Please email JCL giving him encouragement and so forth about his excellant music email him. Thrawn has gone back to Malaysia (I think thats where he lives) due to the fact that he's on summer vacation from university here in the UK. I recently received the first track from his eagerly awaited EP and it's looking very promising indeed. He's finally seen fit to start tracking Psy Trance. Finally Sikos has pursued a proffesional music career, there was a 4 track ep waiting to be sent to me for releasing before he went pro, but I never got it. He is still doing some odd tracker work here and there, and from what I've heard I'm not surprised he went pro. | So what next? onyx trax4 is almost done, I have to write a track for it then it can be released. So there are tracks from JCL, Solaris (his first track really was worth waiting for), and a guest release from Martyn of Fusion., and of course my track when I get around to doing it. Onyx is not dead. Spurious Crap |

The Information page has finally been added. After several months of people nagging and litterally asking me to add the page i did. It's crap, it's full of useless information, so, don't complain at me! ;) Next up is the art page.

Sikos has joined Onyx. Well he actually join about a month ago, but I didn't update the news page. So just incase anyone was wondering about the track on Onyx Trax volume3, then it was by a proper member and not a guest release. His email address just incase you're wondering, is [email protected].

Thrawn of plasm became the latest member of Onyx. He already has several tracks released in
the first two 'Onyx Trax' disks. But will not be releasing for the next 5 weeks. He has returned home to malaysia.
Howver, he does plan to release an album or EP upon his return, so watch out.
